An Information Theoretical Approach to View Planning with Kinematic and Geometric Constraints

چکیده
We consider the view planning problem where the sensor, a range scanner, is mounted on a robot mechanism with non-trivial geometry and kinematics. The robot+sensor system is required to explore the environment (obstacle/free space). We present a novel information theoretical approach in which the sensing action is viewed as reducing ignorance of the planning space, the C-space of the robot. The concept of C-space entropy is introduced as a measure of this ignorance. The next view in the planning process is determined by maximizing the expected reduction of C-space entropy, called maximal entropy reduction (MER) criterion. A computational tool to implement MER is the notion of information gain density function (IGDF). Experimental results with a real PUMA robot with a wrist-mounted range scanner and a simulated robot show the effectiveness of the MER criterion in efficient exploration of environments for motion planning problems.

This paper develops an automatic parking algorithm based on a fuzzy logic controller with the vehicle pose for the input and the steering angle for the output. In this way some feasible reference trajectory path have been introduced according to geometric and kinematic constraints and nonholonomic constraints to simulate motion path of car. متن کاملA Hybrid Neural Network Approach for Kinematic Modeling of a Novel 6-UPS Parallel Human-Like Mastication Robot
Introduction we aimed to introduce a 6-universal-prismatic-spherical (UPS) parallel mechanism for the human jaw motion and theoretically evaluate its kinematic problem. We proposed a strategy to provide a fast and accurate solution to the kinematic problem. The proposed strategy could accelerate the process of solution-finding for the direct kinematic problem by reducing the number of required ...

| We describe in this paper a new motion planning approach for a non-holonomic mobile robot moving on a uneven terrain and subject to strong physical interaction constraints. The novelty of this method is that it deals with the dynamics of the robot and its physical interactions with the terrain at the planning time, together with the kinematic and the geometric constraints of the task. The pla...
متن کاملApplication of Network RTK Positions and Geometric Constraints to the Problem of Attitude Determination Using the GPS Carrier Phase Measurements
Nowadays, navigation is an unavoidable fact in military and civil aerial transportations. The Global Positioning System (GPS) is commonly used for computing the orientation or attitude of a moving platform. The relative positions of the GPS antennas are computed using the GPS code and/or phase measurements. To achieve a precise attitude determination, Carrier phase observations of GPS requiring...
